All About the Boy

So, he had his 4 month check-up on 8/21. He's now 25.5 inches, 14 lbs. 11 oz. (so I'm sure he's at 15 lbs. now). He's nuts. I'm loving it as he develops his personality. He's SUCH an attention whore. He just loves people. We were at Metro last night, because Matt had an orchestra rehearsal, and he (Gabriel) was starting to get cranky because he was tired.
Let me add here that this child has done this since nearly the day he was born, and it's only getting worse now that he's fully aware of the world around him. He refuses to go to sleep, in spite of increasing crankiness, red eyes, and eye-rubbing, because if he does? Well, he might MISS STUFF.
Anyway, he was getting fussy, and I'm trying to calm him down. A total stranger starts to walk by, and sees him, and says, "Uh-oh. Cute baby alert," and comes over to talk to him. He IMMEDIATELY stops fussing, puts on a big grin, and starts to flirt. She talked to him and to me for awhile (probably about 5 minutes), and then walked away. As soon as she was out of his sight, he started fussing again.
He also has discovered that squawking will make people pay attention to him. We were at TGIFridays a couple of weeks ago, and a woman had been talking to him. She turned around to go back to her table, and he SHRIEKS to get her to look at him again. Heh.
He also had his first solid food a couple of days ago. He had peas (I gave Daddy a few options and let him pick what the first one would be). Remarkably few of them ended up back on his face. He's been interested in what we're eating for a couple of weeks now, eating like crazy, and can hold up his head REALLY well (has from a surprisingly young age), and sits well with support. Doctor said that those were the things to look for, so we gave it a whirl.
